Charlie Jungle Photo Shoot!

Charlie, a photoshoot…

Charlie loves a photo shoot… on this day he was sitting in the pathway soaking up the sun. I shot the photo through the nearby liriope that grows taller than Charlie is.

We have a cedar mulch path that runs through our backyard from the house to the pool area. We have what was labeled as liriope planted on either side of the path. We planted and waited for them to grow as tall as the liriope (shown) is. Hmmm, never happened. Then they developed a discoloring, like they weren’t happy. So I took a photo and we took it to a nearby nursery that can diagnose plant problems. I don’t remember what was wrong with it, but the woman told us to just cut them back (very early Spring) and they would be fine. She also told us that it was not liriope as was labeled at Lowes, but Mondo grass… which grows much smaller. Great… we have probably 50 or more that we planted. So, live and learn.

We still have liriope as a border for the length of the pool which is nice looking and in various beds. So the mixture actually looks nice. Happy surprise!

I’ve been meaning to mention WHY I’m posting photos for a bit… we are having our hall bathroom remodeled. Demo day was last Monday. It’s very exciting, but I’m also finding it hard to concentrate on finding artists, recipes, and house plans for a few weeks. So as soon as we are caught up I will be back to normal posting… I look forward to sharing with you in future posts!
