This is the St. Clair river where I grew up in Michigan. I love this stretch of the river. The fun we had as kids when summer arrived could not be beat. The joy of jumping in the river and floating down, then walking back up the street to jump in and do it all over again. And again. And again. The current could be swift. It was smart to take a life jacket or float, but we usually just floated down with nothing. Swimming against the current was like having one of those pools where you swim in place. You try hard to get ahead, but whew… going with the current was a blast – you could swim as if you had fins on.
Sometimes my sister and I would take my Dad’s boat and we would go through the canals which was so much fun. #goodmemories
