Oops, I did it again! (Not to sound like Brittany Spears, but…) I had my phone out, ready to snap a photo of this fabulous taco, somehow I took a bite before taking a shot? Not sure how that happens
While visiting family in Michigan, my sister and I stopped in the Wooden Valve in New Baltimore, MI, for an early dinner. We ordered chips and salsa verde (made with tomatillos, serrano peppers, onion, garlic, cilantro & lime – a nice mild salsa – it was perfect!) and a Veggie Taco. The veggie taco was AMAZING (and beautiful!!) I kid you not. Bridget told me about the fried avocado, which didn’t appeal to me until I tried it. It’s not greasy at all. Two pieces of avocado fried and topped with pico, cotija cheese, chipotle cream, on a corn tortilla (my favorite)! A burst of flavors that compliment each other perfectly! Absolute perfection! Well done with the vibe of the restaurant as well as the food! I would call it upscale casual dining.
The atmosphere at the Wooden Valve is hip and upbeat, the waiter was very professional and knowledgeable – he made it a great time for us. It was a quick stop, but one we will make again! Check out their (food) menu HERE.
I can’t wait to come back!
Next time, we’re adding a stop at Finn’s Eatery & Spirits to the rotation (also in New Baltimore, MI) – their menu looks fabulous! I love that there are some good eating places in this area, woohoo!
Also be sure to check out the new (the one and only) art gallery in town! The Conn-Artist Studio & Gallery has opened on Main St. in New Baltimore, one block from Anchor Bay on Lake St. Clair. The gallery is situated near the Wooden Valve. New Baltimore is turning into a happening place! Connie Hipwell owns this gallery, she is an artist, collector and art consultant. #getoutandvisitthisgallery
Catch you back here tomorrow!
