I’ve got Mackinac Island, MI on my mind. A beautiful destination with a cool island vibe. No cars, everything is done with horse and carriage (even hotel deliveries and garbage removal!) The last time I visited Mackinac Island, MI was years ago (10?) with my sister and Mom. We had rainy weather most days, but still managed to get around the island on bikes at least once.
The coast is rocky with fabulous trees. I could go on and on, but HERE is a great article from Travel & Leisure magazine about Mackinac Island. Did you know that the island is 82% parkland? I know! Read the article, lots of tidbits of info in there! I would add the Island House hotel as a place to stay, my favorite!
