Fred and I… married 27 years. Twenty. Seven. Where does the time go?
I remember this photo well… I stink at taking selfie’s, yet my arm is reached out as far as it will go and TADA, a selfie is born! This was a day when the fog rolled in (love that fog!) on Monhegan Island (Maine). We walked up to the lighthouse where you can look out over the island. #suchbeauty
I laugh, because most people would choose a photo that makes them look good. I did that and then thought about it, it’s not about looking good, it’s about capturing the feeling. A feeling of “us” – smiling, laughing, and real. Me (sans makeup, hair blowing in the wind and mist and Fred with a big smile on his face) – I could not love this man any more than I do. He is precious to me – and always will be. We have fun just being us. This isn’t a post to say “look at me, I have a perfect life” – I am blessed to have a wonderful life with a man I love and through whatever happens…

It’s the little things I remember about 27 years ago today… Fred arriving at the church to wash the windows to make sure everything was perfect. Having a beautiful wedding and a church full of friends and family. A wonderful evening at the Rutledge House in Charleston and the happiness knowing that I will be with this man for the rest of my life. Thank you God!
